Mercedes has built an electric car! And it’s… another SUV. Meet the Mercedes-Benz EQC, a car to take on the likes of the Audi e-tron and upcoming BMW iX for that all-important SUV market.

It’s the size of a C-Class, and is actually based on the GLC chassis rather than its own bespoke architecture, but with 760Nm (560lb ft) of torque available instantly it should offer some driving fun, even if it weighs a smidge under 2.5 tonnes. We drove the EQC to find out if its tech-filled nature and smart looks make up for some less than brilliant handling.
