Gotta get this out there, I’ve had an Audi RS6 on my list of “cars I want to own one day and will make it happen even if it ruins me” since I was about 14.

When I was sixteen I dated a girl very briefly partly because her dad had an RS6. Sadly the relationship was so brief that I never got to spend any time in it. It was a saloon anyway, so who cares about her.
This week though, I have been driving an RS6 myself. It’s an estate (because there is no saloon and hasn’t been for well over a decade) and it’s the latest one, with enough power to launch rockets Saturn and make the original C5 RS6 look a little weedy.
But, has the new RS6 lost a little of its magic? It no longer has that, understated almost sleeper vibe, given the new RS6 has been lavished with a chin so wide David Coulthard would be impressed. But it also now has 600PS (441kW) and 800Nm (590lb ft) of torque, so can still dispatch almost anything on the road with absolute ease. There’s only one way to find out…
