Video: 720 GT3X's sensational Shootout winning run
The Timed Shootout could have gone either way at the 2021 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, with clouds looming large over drivers taking their runs. Rob Bell, in the McLaren 720S GT3X, managed to get in there with his run before the heavens opened… and what a run it was.
Razor-sharp precision, pitch-perfect throttle control and a splash of good old fashioned bravery culminated in a Shootout-winning run of 45.01 seconds. It’s the haunch view that gets us, where we have a perfect angle of the side mirrors kissing the hay bales. The speed he was going, we’re surprised they didn’t set them alight. Is this one of the most spectacular Hill runs you’ve ever seen?
