From Arrows to Tyrrell, Fittipaldi to Surtees, this circa 30-car grid is a cross-section of some of the greatest Grand Prix grids from one of the greatest eras in F1 driven properly and competitively, just as their creators and teams designed and built them to. As for the race itself, our good friend and Goodwood lap record-holder Nick Padmore put his best foot forward in the Williams FW07C finishing 2.5 seconds ahead of Jonathan Kennard in the Arrows A3. Kennard came out on top in terms of lap times, however, posting a best of 1:51.192 on lap 3 with Padmore pursuing closely, less than 0.3 of a second slower.
What’s your pick of this veritable chocolate box of historic Grand Prix for a fast lap of Silverstone?
