GT racing at the moment and over the past couple of years has been a curious and slightly daunting cross-section of the rapid evolution (turbocharging) of the combustion engine. Ear-splitting screams and the medley of rapid high revs are giving way to turbo-stifled cylinders and the flutter of waste-gates.
Fortunately the world of GT3 racing has remained largely unscathed as these changes come into effect. While GTE and GTLM cars gradually become quieter and quieter in the chase for efficiency, most GT3 machines still scream, howl or rumble like the good old days.
