Ride on board with SuperSwede Kenny Brack in a McLaren F1 GTR ‘Longtail’ as he tackles the 1.16-mile hillclimb course during last year’s spectacular Festival of Speed timed shootout.
Brack, who has recently joined McLaren’s test and development team, is fully committed in the 6-litre BMW V12 GT racer, the former Indianapolis 500 winner and IndyCar Series champion inch perfect as he howls under the bridge in front of Goodwood House, through the kink and over the blind crest on the approach to the tricky Molecomb left-hander.
He guns the British-built sportscar through the Esses overlooked by the imposing flintwall and up through Birdless Grove, before hammering across the bale-lined finish at 129mph.
We shouldn’t really be surprised at Brack’s mastery of the McLaren on the narrow driveway; this is the man who won the Revival RAC TT Celebration race in appalling conditions aboard a Shelby Daytona Cobra in 2011, sharing with Le Mans legend Tom Kristensen, and followed it up with another masterclass in the 2013 Whitsun Trophy at the controls of Adrian Newey’s Ford GT40, which you can relive in this infamous on board.
