The Cosworth DFV could have brought happiness to more people around the world than almost any other single invention man has ever seen.
That sounds like a pretty extravagant claim. But just think about how many Formula 1 cars it powered over its years of glory from the 1960s all the way into the '90s. And then don't forget the other derivitives, the likes of the DFE, or in this case the DFL, which continued to power some incredible sportscars for years.
The DFV and its derivatives have brought some of the most amazing sounds to people around the world for decades, and continue to do so to this very day. Which brings us to the video we have right here. This is a Lola T600. Perhaps not the brand's most famous creation, but it's one that should not be overlooked. Outside the Lola T600 is a sleek cruise missile of a machine, and inside it has that stunning-sounding DFL poised beneath it's rear bodywork, powering it to an absolute screaming crescendo.
Here the T600 is being piloted by our old friend, and also owner of the amazing Howmet TX, Xavier Micheron. A very, very cool man anyway, made even more amazing when you realise that he only has one hand. But Xavier thinks nothing of powering this mighty machine around the beautiful sweeping forest of the Ardennes as it flies round Spa. He might just be one of our heroes.
