The final day of the Festival of Speed delivered a breathtaking conclusion to the weekend, perfectly blending deep motorsport nostalgia with the cutting edge of electric performance. The emotional highlight of the day belonged to 1996 Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill, who celebrated the 30^th anniversary of his success with a spectacular reunion behind the wheel of his Championship-winning Williams FW18. Hill powered the iconic V10 straight to the steps of Goodwood House before an emotional appearance on the Balcony with his family.

Earlier in the day, the FOS Fan Zone presented by Pirelli served as the definitive hub for fan access and paddock insights, while the ultimate competitive climax of the weekend arrived with the high-stakes Timed Shoot-Out, where the undisputed King of the Hill Romain Dumas took his fifth victory, this time piloting the ferocious, all-electric Ford Super Mustang Mach-E. Dumas tore up the tarmac to stop the clock at a blistering 41.98 seconds, in what was a thrilling conclusion to a dazzling four days here at Goodwood. We’ve loved every second.

Saturday at the 2026 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard will go down in history as an absolute masterclass in motorsport sensory overload.

Reigning Formula 1 World Champion Lando Norris was the hero of the day, delivering one show-stopping moment after another. In a spectacular display, Norris drove his thunderous 2023 McLaren F1 car right up to the front steps of Goodwood House, emerging directly from a roaring, completely packed-out sea of papaya orange. 

Over in the FOS Fan Zone presented by Pirelli, Lando shared an emotional full-circle reflection with the crowd, revealing that exactly 14 years ago he attended the festival as a young child with his father and brother. To return as an F1 World Champion was a surreal dream come true. To top it all off, Norris officially confirmed the team's future endurance racing ambitions, revealing that “the plan” is for him to jump into the cockpit of the sensational, newly unveiled 2027 McLaren MCL-HY Hypercar.

The two-wheel world brought its own explosive energy as legend Valentino Rossi sent shockwaves through the crowd by proving he is just as lethal on four wheels as he is on two. ‘The Doctor’ kicked off his afternoon by spinning a spectacular, Monster Energy-liveried drift BMW sideways up the Hillclimb. He then immediately rolled back the years, jumping onto his iconic number 46 Yamaha YZR-M1. 

Meanwhile, Formula 1 icon Gerhard Berger fulfilled a 30-year wish for the Duke of Richmond by making his historic debut on the Goodwood balcony. Berger brought his trademark dry wit and charisma to the crowds, arriving hilariously shoeless out of the cockpit after screaming up the Hillclimb in the vibrant Benetton-BMW B186. 

Ensuring Saturday finished with a massive burst of adrenaline, Racing Bulls rookie Arvid Lindblad decided to leave his own permanent mark on the Goodwood asphalt. The young British star went completely wild on the track, throwing a high-performance Ford Mustang into a series of aggressive, crowd-pleasing burnouts to close out a truly unforgettable day of speed.

The blazing July heat was matched only by the scorching action on track as another spectacular day comes to a close at the 2026 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard. From the soaring temperatures across the estate to an incredibly cool, star-studded Balcony Moment, spectators were spoiled for choice from morning until dusk.

The all-new FOS Fan Zone presented by Pirelli quickly became the place to be, hosting appearances from some of motorsport's most iconic faces. The stage was filled with captivating stories that drew in massive crowds from every corner of the grounds. Adding to the excitement, fans were treated to the highly anticipated public debut of the 2027 McLaren MCL-HY Hypercar, an extraordinary machine spearheaded by reigning Formula 1 World Champion Lando Norris. 

Later in the afternoon, Monster Energy completely took over the atmosphere outside Goodwood House. The sound of screaming tyres and roaring engines echoed across the lawn as Lando Norris performed a series of smoky burnouts, sending the densely packed papaya orange and vibrant yellow crowd into a frenzy. Norris then joined MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi on the iconic balcony for an unforgettable celebration. Words simply cannot do justice to the sheer energy of the audience – the atmosphere was truly immense.

Everything from the Duke of Richmond’s Hill-opening ride in the DLS Turbo Reimagined by Singer to the historic announcement of the Goodwood Road Racing Club of America, this was a day that will be forever remembered.

We got to enjoy our first action over on the Forest Rally Stage presented by Subaru, which offers a unique challenge as the dust flies in the wake of the Festival of Speed’s bravest drivers. The Cartier Style et Luxe looked resplendent in the summer sun, and Hill was once again abuzz with the greatest collection of cars, bikes and more that you’ll find anywhere in the world.

Travis Pastrana put on the quite the show for us in his outrageous Brataroo 9500 Turbo, but the pace came down a notch as the remarkable Salvesen Steam Wagonette made its way up Hill.

It was a lot of fun out there today, and we can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow, when reigning Formula 1 World Champion Lando Norris will be joining us along with many other huge motorsport names.
