Especially with the cooling track temperatures during the evening setting of the Kinrara Trophy, there were a few very hairy moments. The scenes depicted in the video above show one of a few calamitous instances involving Aston Martins in the race. Adrian Wilmott in the white DB4 is chasing the E-Type hard, getting some serious angle and lean into the turns. There are a couple of breath-nabbing moments where you think it’s about to let go, but the main event blows those away.
The DB4 pulls sideways and locks up braking into Woodcote, slides in front of the E-Type and goes backwards off-track, bumping the tyre wall. A flutter of flames from the DB4’s tail pipes finishes the show. A spectacularly bold but ultimately overzealous move.
