Revival Geek: V8 engines

It has often been said that there’s nothing quite like a V8, and it’s an opinion to which GRR wholeheartedly subscribes. Sadly, you’re all going to have to wait until the live streaming begins to hear the specific brand of ground-shaking noise you tend to get from two banks of four cylinders usually opposed at 90 degrees, but for now we thought we’d tease you with some still images of some of the V8s taking part at this year’s Revival in the gallery above.

We have, in no particular order: small block Fords found either in the front of Mustangs, Falcons, and AC Cobras (alas, there are no big block Fords this year due to there not being a race to accommodate the Galaxies), small block Chevys as found in the front of Lister-Chevrolets, Corvettes, an Iso Rivolta and also seen in the back of McLarens, Lolas, Chinooks and just about every other V8-engined Surtees Cup car! Big Block Chevrolets from the front of Corvettes, small block Buicks from the Tojeiro Buick and the Warwick GT, Ford-Cosworths in the back of several of the Sir Jackie Stewart Parade cars, a super-rare Packard V8 in the Studebaker Hawk, and last but by no means least the sophisticated four-cam V8s from the Maserati Tipo 161 and the BRM P57. Can you figure out which is which?
