Fresh from a terrific race weekend at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, where he put Williams back at the sharp end of the field, Felipe Massa will share the 1996 championship-winning FW18 with Damon Hill at this weekend’s Festival of Speed. His pole position with the Martini liveried Williams at the weekend was his first since 2008, while Williams’ last pole was in Spain in 2012. In the end, he finished the race in fourth with teammate Valtteri Bottas claiming a podium position in third. The Williams team will bring plenty of good feeling to Goodwood.
Massa is looking forward to driving one of Williams’ most successful racers when he hits the hillclimb on the Saturday. ‘I’m really happy to be able to get behind the wheel of one of the team’s historic cars. It will be amazing to drive such an incredible car as the FW18.’ It will be his first visit to the Festival of Speed since he piloted a Ferrari F2002 up the hill in 2003. ‘I’m looking forward to driving in front of all the amazing fans who have a true love of all motorsport.’
