After one of the wettest starts to the Festival of Speed the sun is about to come out – and Aston Martin has just the right new model to make the most of it. With lots of blue sky thinking, and an undisclosed price tag, the company has come up with the ultimate Vantage convertible.

Aston Martin Launches One Off Drop‑Top GT12 Roadster At FOS
It’s a roadster version of the GT12, the hardcore 600hp road racer coupé that is Aston’s answer to various GT3-type rivals. “It’s the most extreme convertible Aston Martin has ever built,” says a spokesman.
Unveiled at Goodwood on Friday (June 24th), the Vantage GT12 Roadster is a one-off commission by a private customer. Aston says the car is the first entire bespoke model from the Q by Aston Martin personalisation service. That normally deals with colour and trim but this time it worked with Aston design and engineering teams to develop the whole car, with its new carbon-fibre body panels and unique suspension set-up.
“The car is a significant landmark – the first time a customer has been able to call upon the full scope of Aston Martin’s capabilities as part of the Q by Aston Martin service. Customers can now commission highly ambitious full-scale design and engineering projects.”
David King, Aston’s special operations chief, says: “In just nine months we took a customer’s dream and realised it, with a fully-formed, exactingly engineered and fully road-legal one-off.”
Alas the Vantage GT12 Roadster is destined to remain just that –unless of course someone commissions another…
