The McLaren P1 LM. Lanzante’s ultimate version, of the track version, of Mclaren’s Ultimate Series car. Does it get much better, faster or more extreme? You’d be hard-pressed to find something else with number plates and road tax that matches it. How best to prove that point? Whack McLaren test driver and racing legend Kenny Bräck behind the wheel, send him up the Goodwood Hillclimb at the 2016 Festival of Speed and set the clock ticking.

Watch just that in the video above, as Bräck takes the LM for a geniune record breaking run. The first corner is sketchy as the LM writhes around under the force of its fully deployed 900+ horsepower, but Brack gets it under control. Hooking up nicely, the P1 LM goes full warp! Up the hill and round the flint wall the P1 is absolutely committed.
How is this thing road legal? We’re glad it is, because if it wasn’t it wouldn’t have set the road legal Goodwood Hill record at 47.07 seconds! That’s not getting toppled any time soon. What a machine and what a drive from Kenny Bräck!
