It’s like a 917, only it makes the 917 look slow. Over 1,000bhp courtesy of juicing the weak (ha) old flat-12 with two turbochargers. In period, that would be good for up to and beyond 1,500bhp… The 917-30 is one of those peak machines that topped the game at such extremes that play was stopped, or the car was outlawed: A blessing for the fans, and a curse for the longevity of the sport, and a suitable entrée for our theme in 2017 of 'Peaks of Performance – Motorsport's Game-Changers'!
