Meet Jordan, our Golf Operations Assistant

1. Best golfing experience?

My greatest golfing experience was hands down in 2018, when I had the opportunity to go to the Ryder Cup in Paris, at Le Golf National. To be able to experience the European team winning was incredible. I was able to see the likes of Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Henrik Stenson, Francesco Molinari, Ian Poulter and of course, Tiger Woods - amongst many others. Following Tiger and seeing the amount of fans watching his every shot, was something the TV screens don't do justice.

2. What you are hoping to bring to the club?

I am hoping to bring a good vibe to the team and the club and everyone I meet and interact with. I hope to develop good relationships with the staff and members. I also hope to become a familiar and friendly face around both courses, one that people don't hesitate to come up and chat to!

3. Your dream fourball?

A fourball is not enough. If Gary Beves would kindly allow an eight-ball to tee off, I would have Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Daniel Ricciardo, Ricky Gervais, David Beckham, Mark Crossfield and Nick Kyrgios. However, if not, my dream fourball would be myself, Tiger, Nick Kyrgios and my dad.

4. What is your background/ previous work experience?

My background both personally and professionally is in football, being involved in a family-owned football club and academy in South Africa, I have always been involved in the coaching and development of youth footballers. Specifically, the psychological aspect of performance is what interests me the most, and having two degrees in clinical psychology helps with this. That is and always will be my passion.

5. What do you like most about Goodwood?

I love the grounds, the nature on the estate. I enjoy the connection between all factions of the estate, and how the identity of being a member of Goodwood staff carries a certain esteem about it. I particularly enjoy the Golf Team spirit and vibe, which has made it incredibly easy to settle in.
