Top frequently asked questions
Why has the 78th Members' Meeting moved to October?
The decision has been made following the announcement by the Government on Monday 22 February, and its roadmap to ease restrictions over the coming months, which rendered the planned May date impossible. We looked into every possible way of staging the event as planned but the restrictions still in place on those dates, and the possibility of the situation changing so early in the easing process led to our decision to postpone until the autumn.
We acknowledge that this is the third date change for this event, and we understand how frustrating this is, especially for Members who have made travel plans several times. We believe that by moving the event into October, we have done all we can to minimise the likelihood of further disruption due to the pandemic.
If you had booked accommodation for the May weekend, please contact your travel provider and also check your travel insurance policy. If your travel or accommodation was booked through Goodwood Travel, please contact Meon Valley by phone on 01243 216618.
If you have any questions about your Members' Meeting tickets, please contact the Ticket Office on 01243 755055, or by email at ticket.office@goodwood.com
Rolled over tickets
If you have rolled over your Members' Meeting tickets, your tickets will remain valid and you will not be issued new ones. There is nothing you need to do, other than hold on to your existing tickets. Camping passes, grandstand passes and any additional extras will also roll over to the new October dates.
However, new tickets will be issued for the Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival. Any 2020 tickets issued for these two events will not be valid and new tickets will automatically be sent out in the post.
If your contact details have changed since you booked your tickets, please let us know by calling our Ticket Office on 01243 755055.
Young Persons tickets will be honoured if the holder has turned 22 years old.

Attending the event
Dress code
As with any exclusive club, the Members’ Meeting is intended to be stylish and relaxed – an informal yet smart event, with everyone asked to respect our style guide. It is a great excuse for both ladies and gentlemen to wear their smartest countryside attire, and when the weather can’t make up its mind, a wax jacket with tweed accessories wouldn’t go amiss, not forgetting an umbrella.
Please remember that the weather is likely to be chilly in the evenings, so we recommend bringing layers. Extra clothes can be stored in our lockers, available at the event. Parking is on grass so suitable footwear is recommended, including wellingtons when wet.
Opening times
Car parks are free and open at 0700hrs and gates open at 0730hrs.
The action on the track commences at 0900hrs on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday 0730hrs - 2200hrs
Sunday 0730hrs - 1900hrs

On-event facilities
Information
If you have any questions whilst you're at Members' Meeting, please visit our Information points, located around the event.
A full itinerary, timetable and map can be found on our new Goodwood Motorsport App, available on the App Store and Google Play Store. We encourage you to download the Goodwood Motorsport App ahead of your visit.
Medical
Treatment Centres are located in the Chicane Paddock and at the Aero Club. Treatment Centres are staffed by qualified doctors and medical staff.
Emergency
If you spot an emergency, please report it to a member of staff at the nearest Information point.
Lost property
If you lose something at Members' Meeting please visit the nearest Information point as the lost item may have been handed in. Alternatively, telephone the Ticket Office on 01243 755055 or email ticket.office@goodwood.com providing as much information as possible about the item and where you feel you lost it.
If you find any lost property, please hand it into the Information Shed outside the Earls Court Motor Show.
Lost child/vulnerable person
If you lose a person from your party, please report to the nearest Information point or to a member of Goodwood staff and then return to the last place you were together. Ideally, the staff member will escort you but under no circumstances leave the staff member until you have given us your contact details.
Often, people in the heat of the moment, report an incident and then disappear, making it impossible to find them again. Most people do tend to return to the last place you saw them, so try not to stray too far from that point.
If you have children or vulnerable people in your group, you are strongly encouraged to take a photo of them on a mobile device as you enter the event. That way, you won't have to struggle to describe them accurately and what they are wearing.
Children under 12 years, or any members of your party that you feel appropriate, should wear one of our wristbands that you are able to write your phone number on. These are pre-booked online (choose Tickets Only and then select Children 12 & Under) or by calling Ticket Office on +44 (0)1243 755055.
Lockers
Don't worry about not knowing how many coats to bring, as we know the British weather is temperamental and you may not want to have to carry them around. So, to make it easy, there are cloakroom facilities available located next to the Ticket Office.
House competition
Every guest, including the drivers, can score points for their House, Methuen, Aubigny, Torbolton or Darnley, by taking part in fun activities ranging from tug-of-war to a duck herding. These House activities certainly aren’t compulsory (if you and your guests just want to sit back, relax, and enjoy the action taking place on the circuit, that’s absolutely fine with us), but they really do add to the sense of camaraderie and fun. Honorary House Captains lead the four Members’ Meeting Houses. All famous names from the world of motorsport, they bring enthusiasm and a competitive spirit to the on-track and off-track proceedings.
All attending the meeting will be assigned to one of the four houses.
Each house name has been carefully chosen for its relevance and importance to the Duke of Richmond and his family across the generations.
Sustainability
Sustainability at Members' Meeting
The Goodwood family has been stewards of the land for centuries, working to preserve the estate and environment beyond. From reducing waste to off-setting carbon emissions, we are continually working to make our events greener. We:
- Encourage our visitors to use public transport or car share to get to our events, to help reduce car emissions and traffic in the local area
- Supply drinking water stations across the events and encourage visitors and staff to bring their own reusable bottles
- Provide recycling bins for plastic bottles and cans around the event, along with further recycling in back of house and kitchen areas
- Plant thousands of trees each year and continue to improve the environment through numerous hedge laying and re-wilding projects
In 2019 in particular we:
- Introduced a reusable cup deposit scheme at the racecourse.
- Increased the number of complimentary water fountains at our events.
- Switched to using LED tower lights across our events.
- Successfully trialled using bio-diesel in our generators at the Goodwood Revival.
- Doubled the number of customer bins to improve recycling on events.
- Across the estate, we planted more than 55,000 trees and laid long stretches of hedgerow.
Our 2020 events were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we are determined to pick up where we left off in. In 2021, subject to any COVID-19 limitations, we will be working to:
- Significantly cut single-use plastic bottles at events.
- Work with South Downs Water who have developed a 100% recycled plastic water bottle. We will use these for all water bottles at our events. We have chosen this route as 100% recycled plastic has a lower carbon footprint than using aluminium cans.
- Introduce reusable cups to remove single-use disposable plastic cups from all of our events. Event-goers will pay a £1 deposit for their first drink, swap the cup with each drink, then claim their £1 back at any exchange point at the end of the day. Or they can take it home and continue to use it!
- Offer a 20p discount on hot drinks, if you supply your own cup.
- Ensure on event food concessions use paper or compostable packaging.
- Improve recycling of glass and cardboard in all of our kitchens.
- Move to using bio-diesel in all of our generators at events over the next three years, to reduce our carbon footprint markedly.
- Expand our use of solar hybrid generators.
- Introducing a voluntary carbon offset levy to our ticket buyers. This will fund a number of tree planting, hedge laying and rewilding schemes across the estate.
Our Event Sustainability Management System is certified by BSI to ISO 20121, which has helped us to focus our work on sustainability and plan for the future.
You can find out more and see our policy here. Feedback can be sent to sustainableevents@goodwood.com.
