Christmas Roll Up
In what has been a challenging year for all off the course, the annual Golf At Goodwood Christmas Roll Up took place on The Downs Course on Saturday 18 December. It was an excellent end of 2021 with 104 people playing and most getting involved with this year’s theme, ‘Twas the Night before Christmas.
The weather was absolutely perfect and set for an enjoyable day on The Downs. All credit to the greenkeepers as the course was in excellent condition, with a number of Members commenting on the greens for the time of year.
The day started with the Members receiving their welcome gift, a locally brewed Sloe Gin. There were plenty of on course games for our Members to get involved in, including beat Father Christmas, The Flop Shot Challenge, and chipping into Santa's sack, all of which got you bonus points for. Everyone was able to enjoy refreshments out on course including mulled wine, mince pies, sausage rolls and cookies. After golf, The Kennels provided a pulled pork burger and a beer, which went down very well with the Members.
The eventual winner of the event was David Young with an impressive score of 43 points. The rest of the results are below:
