Allan has been a Member at the Health Club for many years and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2019. Allan co-founded the Positively Parkinson’s Group to help people adjust to life after diagnosis and demonstrate what can be achieved through exercise, a positive mindset and rising to challenges.

On 25 November and 10 December, Positively Parkinson's completed their ‘Mini-Tri’. Helping them to round out a hugely successful year of fundraising.

The charity along with some of their trustees and beneficiaries completed a walk around the Estate. Thankfully the weather was on-side allowing for an excellent chance for the attendees to enjoy the estate and reflect on all their achievements and progress. Then it was off to the pool, where the swimming team managed to complete over 800 lengths between them.

The final leg of the Mini-Tri took place on Sunday 10 December and it was off to the Motor Circuit to cumulatively complete the John O’Groats to Lands End distance by cycling the circuit.

Joined by a representative from Cure Parkinsons, the group gathered and set their sights on the task ahead. The high spirits and determination were not dampened by the wet weather that came across just in time for the start. Wrapped up and weather-ready, the team set out around the course.

This final leg of the Mini-Tri completed the event and rounded out a very successful year for Positively Parkinsons, who are already setting their sights on next year's challenges… watch this space…
