Meet the Team: Benedict Goddard
What is your job role here at Goodwood?
As the Health & Wellbeing Administration Manager, amongst other responsibilities, I oversee the membership administration team, including the two superstar individuals, Tom and Julie.
You’ll likely have spoken to one of us throughout your time as a member as we assist you in maximising the benefits of your membership. Whether it be answering questions or assisting with amendments to your membership, we work tirelessly to meet the diverse needs of our Members.
What do you enjoy about working at Goodwood Health & Wellbeing?
What I enjoy most about working at Health & Wellbeing at Goodwood is the opportunity to make a positive impact on our members' lives. It’s the collaborative and supportive environment as a team, where everyone is dedicated to delivering exceptional service and unique experiences, that makes every day an ease to get out of bed in the morning.
It's incredibly rewarding to see our Members achieve their health and wellness goals and know that our team plays a part in supporting them along their journey.
What kind of sports/fitness/wellbeing do you enjoy?
Out of the day-to-day working environment, I enjoy staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy running and have recently joined a run club, as well as enjoying participating regularly in Saturday morning Park Run in Oaklands Park. My favourite part of the staff wellbeing programme here is Christopher’s Boxercise class on a Friday lunchtime.
Mental and emotional wellness are also important to me, as I enjoy getting out and about for a walk and spending time in my private meditation. These activities not only keep me fit but also contribute to my overall wellbeing, allowing me to bring my best self to work every day.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve ever had to do here at Goodwood?
One of my most fond memories here at Goodwood is when the opportunity to have a Cessna Flying experience at the Aerodrome. Flying with an instructor, it was great to see Goodwood and the surrounding areas from a bird's eye view.
Closer to home, each year I enjoy assisting with the planning and realisation of the Goodwood Hill Climb run, which is held each August. Throughout my time here at Goodwood I have seen this community event grow year on year, from when I participated within the first few years, to now when I am involved in this event which raises money for Goodwood’s charity of the year.
What does Health & Wellbeing mean to you?
To me Health & Wellbeing extends far beyond the mere absence of illness; it signifies waking up every morning brimming with the energy to seize the day to the fullest. Amidst life's challenges, the synergy between physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, along with a sense of community and belonging, fosters resilience and empowers me to achieve my best potential.
