Goodwood Highlights
Qatar Goodwod Festival
30th July - 3rd August
Enjoy the sporting and social highlight of the summer season – affectionately known as Glorious Goodwood – with five days of racing at the beautiful racecourse on the South Downs. Highlights include the Qatar Goodwood Cup (day one), the worldclass line-up at the £1m-stake Qatar Sussex Stakes (day two) and the historic, six-furlong cavalry charge that is the Qatar Stewards' Cup (day five). Not to forget all the glamour and fun of Ladies' Day (day three), including the Magnolia Cup, the charity race contested by lady amateurs, which this year will raise money for Wellbeing of Women, Britain's leading charity pioneering medical research in women's reproductive health.
Breakfast Club: Classic Car Sunday
4th August
Celebrating the heyday of motoring, Classic Car Sunday will welcome cars and bikes of all types, shapes and speeds – as long as they were built before 1979. We aim to fill the Motor Circuit with tax-exempt cars and bikes as a nod to the Revival which will be just a few weeks away.
Summer Exhibition at Goodwood House
7th August - 24th October
Famous throughout the world as England’s greatest sporting estate, Goodwood has been the home of the Dukes of Richmond for over three hundred years. Each of the sports at Goodwood stems from a personal passion of one of the dukes. The summer exhibition, taking place in August, tells the story of Goodwood and the Dukes of Richmond, from the seventeenth century through to the present day.
The exhibition complements the publication of Glorious Goodwood: A Biography of England’s Greatest Sporting Estate by Goodwood curator, James Peill. It gives visitors the opportunity to see for themselves some of the objects and paintings described in the book, set against the magnificent backdrop of the state rooms of Goodwood House.
