This Girl Golfs at Goodwood
There are so many reasons why you should start playing golf so here are just a few to get you started.
Friendship:
From playing golf, there is the opportunity to meet new people or develop closer relationships with those you may already know. It really is a wonderful social sport. It doesn’t matter if everyone in the party are at different levels as people of all abilities can play together.
Whether it's a social game where you can chat while walking from hole-to-hole, or a competitive game, it still has a great social aspect. After the game has finished, head to the clubhouse to discuss the great shots and missed putts.
Keep Healthy and Active:
Golf keeps you fit! Did you know that an 18-hole game means you could walk up to five miles, take more than 10,000 steps and can burn at least 900 calories! Research shows that it helps mental well-being and help you live longer!
The Great Outdoors:
There is nothing better than being able to enjoy the Great British outdoors, and golf can definitely do this! Walking round the beautiful scenery that The Park Course and Downs Course provide enjoying the views of the local area. There really is nothing better to enjoy whatever time of year!
Well-being:
With golf keeping you fit, healthy and gets people out into the great outdoors, it really is a great way to reduce stress, improve mood and self-esteem.
Golf can be fitted into all lifestyles and it doesn't take hours to play. It is affordable and ladies coaching at Goodwood starts from £12.
Chris McDonnell PGA Professional and Academy Manager at Golf At Goodwood said, “The This Girl Golf event being held here at the Academy is a fantastic event to encourage more women and girls to participate in the sport.
“Golf At Goodwood are very focused on being the preferred choice for women getting into the game and the partnership between the two are a perfect match.
“We provide a very relaxed approach to golf through fun and social activities which are available to all women, you don’t have to be a member or have tried golf before.”
The Academy offers plenty of lessons for ladies, from the Get into Golf programme to weekly ladies coaching sessions. Get into Golf lasts between 60-90 minutes and includes flexible coaching and equipment. After the session you're welcomed to The Goodwood Bar & Grill for a complimentary drink.
The ladies coaching sessions are with our Head PGA Professional, Christian Fogden and is a one-hour group lesson covering a different aspect of the game providing a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
