A Royal Goodwood
Celebrating The Queen's Platinum Jubilee
Her Majesty The Queen was such a frequent visitor during the 1950s that horseracing at Goodwood began to be known as ‘the sport of Queens’. Her Majesty has had several winners at Goodwood including Apprentice in 1965 and Gaulois in 1966, both of whom won the Goodwood Cup.

Royal Visits and Celebrations
Goodwood has entertained many relations of The Royal Family throughout the years, from great house parties to unforgettable racedays. Her Majesty the Queen was a regular visitor to Raceweek at Goodwood, along with King Edward VII and his wife, Queen Alexandra. Traditionally over large events, the whole house was filled with leading members of society and the house party almost always included members of the Royal Family.
