Junior Winter Series
The first winter league competition took place on a cold January morning, on The Downs course, which saw just one player shoot under their handicap. Wilf Walters won the competition with an impressive 37 points, with his closest competitors Adam Cort and Roman Kulyk on 35.
The second event saw some great scoring with Tommy Harber shooting 41 points on The Downs, with Peter Thorne and Charles Small finishing on 39 points each to share 2nd place.
The third event saw some brutal winter conditions as the rain came down in the cold temperatures, which saw only eight juniors brave the conditions. Adam Brumder still managed to shoot a brilliant 40 points as he won the competition by 2 over Rohan Down, who shot 38 points. George Game came 3rd with 33 points.
Currently Wilf Walters is at the top of the leaderboard, having a total of 153 points from his best four stableford scores, with his highest being 39 on two occasions! Adam Cort and William Hauffe are close behind in second place with a total of 148 points, with Adam’s highest being 41 points in week 5 of the Winter League and William’s highest also coming in week 5, with 40 points.
A total of 27 Juniors have competed in the series so far, with three competitions remaining. The dates for the final three competitions are:
Week 6 - Sunday 31 March
Week 7 - Wednesday 10 April
Week 8 - Sunday 21 April
