Why should I support?
We had to take the difficult decision not to hold the Festival of Speed and Revival last year. For a business like ours, which is all about bringing people together to enjoy the things they love, social distancing has had a catastrophic impact on our ability to operate. It is a worrying time and we are doing what we can to salvage a future for our events.
We rely on our headline events to generate all of our operating profit, their absence places not only future events but even the long-term future of the estate under considerable strain. It is our hope that, with the renewal of the Goodwood Supporters’ Association (GSA), our members and the wider motorsport community will stand beside us as we weather this storm and preserve motorsport at Goodwood.
What is the GSA?
The GSA is a group of people that come together to support Goodwood through various challenges. First created twenty-five years ago, initially to reopen the Goodwood Motor Circuit, the challenge today is very different, not one about planning approval as it was then, but one that threatens to undo so much of the original work that has made it possible for us to share the passion and enjoyment of motor racing at Goodwood. The new GSA will be vital in keeping this dream alive. We've created a series of benefits to recognise the contributions of members of the GSA at different levels. These gestures of appreciation are our way of thanking all of you for your invaluable support.
Become a GSA Patron
Those wanting to go above and beyond can become a GSA Patron for life. We will recognise each of our Patrons by engraving their names into the new pit wall at the circuit to serve as a perpetual reminder of our appreciation. They will also receive a special bespoke GSA pin, and a Patron’s armband, inspired by those worn by Freddie March in period. We hope people will wear the armband with pride at circuits around the world, acknowledging them as protectors of motorsport at Goodwood. The armband will allow access for the holder plus one guest onto the pit lane gantry at the Revival forever. By becoming a Patron, you will not only be supporting Goodwood but also the future of historic motor racing.

GSA Patron
Those wanting to go above and beyond can become a GSA Patron for life. Patrons will preserve Goodwood’s unique, intimate interpretation of the sport we all love. We will recognise each of our Patrons by engraving their names into the new pit wall at the circuit to serve as a perpetual reminder of our appreciation. They will also receive a special bespoke GSA pin, and a Patron’s armband, inspired by those worn by Freddie March in period. We hope people will wear the armband with pride at circuits around the world, acknowledging them as protectors of historic racing at Goodwood. By becoming a Patron, you will not only be supporting Goodwood but also the future of historic motor racing. To find out more, please email patrons@goodwood.com.
How can I join the Goodwood Supporters' Association?
You can view the different levels within the Goodwood Supporters' Association above and compare the benefits you will receive with the membership.
If you have already purchased tickets for a 2020 event, you can donate the value of your tickets held in exchange for joining the GSA. To do so, please complete and submit the online form above. You will then receive a confirmation and welcome email once this has been processed by our Ticket Office.
If you have not purchased any tickets for our 2020 events, please select from the GSA membership options above. Once you have purchased your GSA membership, you will receive a confirmation and welcome email.
Can anyone join the GSA?
The Goodwood Supporters' Association is open for anyone to join, but the benefits have been carefully curated to appeal to Goodwood's motorsport enthusiasts following the decision not to hold the Festival of Speed and the Revival in 2020.
Can I donate a different amount to Goodwood?
To support the future of motor racing at Goodwood and the rest of the estate, we are welcoming donations which can be made by contacting us at specialdonation@goodwood.com.
Given the reinvigoration of the GSA and the request for support, does Goodwood now have charitable status and do my 'donations' qualify for Gift Aid?
The GSA initiative is designed to support the Estate through the immediate financial impact of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. If our customers and members wish to support the Estate and are able to do so, this is encouraged and certain donations will be recognised with a specific package of long-lasting benefits, as displayed on the website. However, the Goodwood Estate remains a privately owned, commercial entity and does not have charitable status. As such, donations will not qualify for Gift Aid, but are welcomed as part of the overall GSA initiative.
Is the GSA an ongoing membership?
Unlike traditional memberships, the GSA has been reinvigorated for a very special purpose in addressing a unique set of circumstances. With that in mind, this specific GSA programme is intended to be a one-off programme to support Goodwood through the immediate future. Therefore, all of our benefits have been designed to have long-lasting value in their own right, in order that supporters can be associated with the initiative without an ongoing GSA subscription.
I'm part of the GRRC Fellowship. What benefits do I get?
All those within the GRRC Fellowship are invited to join the GSA by donating into whichever level suits. Those that opt for Level 3, which includes a brass plaque within one of the Motor Circuit Paddock shelters, will be entitled to have their plaque re-located to the exclusive member-only paddock shelters upon becoming a full member.
I'm part of the GRRC Membership. What benefits do I get?
All those within the GRRC Membership will be automatically be enrolled into the Goodwood Supporters' Association. By renewing your GRRC Membership for the 2021 season, foregoing any refund or discount for 2020, we will recognise your ongoing support by including a selection of GSA benefits as part of our 2021 renewal - you do not need to do anything until the renewal process begins. There are additional GSA options for members wishing to make further contributions, details of which are available above.
All the GSA Levels include adopting a group of trees in the new GSA Forest. Will I know which trees are 'mine', and can I visit to see them?
Everyone who joins the GSA will adopt a group of trees in the newly planted GSA Forest, located northwest of the Motor Circuit. Each member of the GSA will be given coordinates of a small area within the woodland (approx. 3m x 3m), which will contain a group of various species of tree planted by the Goodwood Estate. Within your GSA pack you will be given a small booklet with details of the GSA Forest and the species within it. Access will be available should you wish to see your adopted trees in due course. Please note that due to the unknown level of GSA take-up, it is possible you will be sharing an area with other GSA members.
If I select one of the GSA levels which includes a plaque, how do I choose the name on the plaque, and does it have to be my name?
You can add any name on your plaque once you have reached the checkout stage. You can choose to display your name or that of a friend or loved one. Please note that the name you add to your plaque is final.
If I choose to exchange some of my existing 2020 ticket value for GSA benefits, what will happen to any remaining balance on my account?
Any remaining balance after joining the GSA will be moved to your account as a credit for any future Goodwood purchases.
When will I receive my GSA pack?
Your GSA pack, which will include your commemorative GSA pin badge and windscreen sticker will arrive to you in the post. We are working closely with our manufactures and suppliers to ensure your new badge and GSA pack arrives later this year.
What does this mean for my Horseracing/Aero/Health Club/Golf/Kennels membership?
The Goodwood Supporters' Association is open for anyone to join, but the benefits have been carefully curated to appeal to Goodwood's motorsport enthusiasts following the decision not to hold the Festival of Speed and the Revival in 2020. Regarding other sports and Goodwood memberships, we are in close contact with the Government to understand any further impact on the rest of the estate. Our golf club has already reopened. Our resident flyers are able to take to the skies and we have some track activities now taking place at the Motor Circuit. We are hopeful that, within Government guidelines, we can soon open The Kennels and Goodwood Health Club.
Are the Goodwood Supporters' Association and the Goodwood Road Racing Club connected?
The short answer is no. The Goodwood Road Racing Club (GRRC) is a group of people within a Club who receive annual benefits in return for paying an ongoing subscription. The Goodwood Supporters' Association (GSA) is a group of people who come together to support signficant challenges faced by the Goodwood Estate at specific moments in time. Twenty-five years ago, the challenge was to re-open the Circuit, whereas the challenge today is to support the group through the financial consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. The GRRC and GSA are therefore two separate and unconnected entities, with the GRRC being an annual subscription in exchange for ongoing seasonal benefits, and the 'new' GSA being a one-off contribution for long-lasting one-off benefits in return for supporting in the current circumstances. The GSA and GRRC benefits are unconnected, and designed for different purposes.
