2022 Goodwood Revival
Welcome to the Virtual Paddock presented by Motul where we celebrate some of the wonderful cars campaigning at the 2022 Goodwood Revival. Each of these cars has a fascinating story and an important place in motorsport history.
As a taster for the action to come we have put together a little preview of the ten cars from previous Goodwood events, including footage from our archive.
1954 Aston Martin DB3S
Race: Freddie March Memorial Trophy
Previously raced by Stirling Moss, Prince Bira, Peter Collins & Tony Brooks among others, this car finished third place in the Goodwood 9 Hours.
1962 Lotus 25
Race: Glover Trophy
This is THE car that took Jim Clark to the 1963 Formula 1 World Championship, winning seven Grand Prix and the Oulton Park Gold Cup that year.
1936 ERA B-type R5B 'Remus'
Race: Goodwood Trophy
Prince Bira of Siam raced two B-Type ERAs, 'Romulus' and 'Remus', and this is the latter. The 1936 ERA B-type is one of the most road raced and successful cars of all time. It clocked 151mph at Le Castellet, and won Goodwood's first Revival race in September 1998.
1963 AC Cobra 'Dragonsnake'
Race: Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy
This striking Cobra was made famous in the Cobra communtity as one of the most successful 'Dragonsnakes' created, winning mutliple drag races and claiming many records in the mid-sixties with driver Bruce Larson. You can't miss its distinctive metal-flake pink livery!
1959 Cooper-Climax T51
Race: Richmond & Gordon Trophy
This incredibly significant car took Jack Brabham to victory in the 1959 Monaco Grand Prix on its way to claiming the 1959 World Championship.
1964 Jaguar E-Type
Race: Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration
Often referred to solely by its registration, WOO II is arguably one of the most successful racing cars of all time having raced extensively every season since 1964 - the car was in the Guinness Book of World Records for winning more races in a season than any other car in history.
Race: Lavant Cup
In this year's all-MG B Lavant Cup there's one car in particular that stands out. This car took on the biggest names in motor racing in 1965 by racing in the Le Mans 24 Hours, where it shone and achieved more than anyone believed it could by finishing second in class and 11th overall.
