Exercises for a full‑body workout
- Push-ups – Whilst it may be considered an old-school exercise, the push-up is actually highly effective. It works a range of different muscles, including chest, triceps and core. There are many variations of this exercise, so take your pick!
- Squats – Another classic exercise that is largely beneficial to the lower body. Working the hips, hamstrings and glutes, squats can also indirectly strengthen your core and upper body.
- Lunges – As one of the simplest exercises you can perform, you don’t need to be a gym fanatic to take on a few lunges. Strengthen the muscles in your quadriceps, hamstrings and glutes for an all over, lower body workout.
- Burpees – Whilst they can be complicated and not the most graceful form of exercise, burpees are a killer calorie burner. Build strength and endurance, raise your heart rate and tone your muscles, all while also testing your balance and co-ordination.
- Deadlift - The deadlift is another simple weight lifting exercise to perform. Whilst it builds total body strength, it can cause injury to the lower back if not carried out correctly. Ensure your body remains flat throughout and this exercise can strengthen your back, calves, glutes and quadriceps.
