Healthy Mind, Healthy Body
- Deep breathing – By practising deep, conscious breathing throughout the day, you’ll notice an immediate calming effect on your body. Breathing is a powerful meditation tool that can be practised anywhere from your office, to in the supermarket!
- Increase your water intake – As your most important nutrient, be religious with the amount of water you drink each day. Try to cut your coffee and sugary drink intake and replace with either tea or water-based refreshments. You should aim to consume 2.5 litres of water every day.
- Eat a small handful of seeds every day – Raw seeds and nuts are the perfect food to snack on throughout the day. If you’re going to buy anything from the supermarket, try to avoid the crisps and biscuits and head for a more nutritious alternative.
- Choose good proteins – Proteins are renowned for keeping you fuller for longer. Try to include oily fish, such as salmon and tuna, in your diet twice a week and avoid over-doing it on the intake of red meats. This will further fuel your brain for the day ahead.
- Keep active – It is easy to find ourselves leading a sedentary life, therefore it’s important to incorporate fitness and exercise into our daily routine. Try taking the stairs rather than the lift, or trying a new form of gentle exercise, such as yoga and Pilates.
