The Benefits of Drinking Water
Water has an incredible amount of benefits that many people do not realise. The scary fact is that often people opt out of drinking water and instead choose to drink sugar loaded beverages, leading to higher risk of obesity and heart conditions.
So here is what we think are the greatest reasons that you should fill up your glass (with water!).
1) It reduces fatigue – Feeling tired is one of the first signs of dehydration, so drink up and discover that boost of energy.
2) Pain prevention – Whether it is joint pain, a headache or sore muscles, a glass of water can go a long way to help take the pain away.
3) Boosts your IQ – A study in London found (although it is not conclusive) that students bringing water into the exam room had an increase in their overall grade.
4) Aids weight loss – Simply put water helps people feel fuller therefore as a result they consume less calories. Numerous studies have linked the two together so put down the chocolate bar and pick up the glass of water!
5) Clearer skin – There are toxins in the body that cause the skin to inflame. Drinking water flushes these out, reducing the risk of a flare up.
So with this in mind you should be aiming to drink about 2 to 3 litres of water per day.
