Green juice. Whilst it may not be the most appealing or appetising choice on the menu, it is in fact, filled with health benefits. As one of the latest healthy food trends, we’ve compiled a list of reasons why filling your drink with leafy green vegetables is good for you.
Energy – It takes a lot of energy to get through each day. Fuelling your body with the correct nutrients, fruits and vegetables be sure to give you a spring in your step. The sugars from the fruit provide a slow-release meaning that you will stay fuller for longer.
Nutrients - If over 95% of the vitamins, minerals and nutrients we need are found in raw fruits and vegetables, doesn’t it make sense to eat more fruit and vegetables? By adding just a few of these superfoods to your juice means you don’t have to think about your fruit and vegetable intake.
Quick and easy – There is nothing worse than rushing, and mornings are prone for enabling ‘the rush’. When all you need is a few nutritious ingredients and a blender, there really is no excuse to skip breakfast. On the way to work, during your 9am meeting, or even as a mid-morning snack – green juices are the perfect answer to those under time constraints!
Low calorie – Green smoothies are low in calories but very filling. As they contain high amounts of water and fibre, they’ll make you feel as if you just ate a full meal. If you’re trying to lose weight, green smoothies will help fight hunger and cravings while helping the pounds melt off easier.
Easy to digest – Green juices are kind to your digestive system. Your body has less work to do to break down the foods, in order to extract the nutrients. When you juice, all the essential nutrients in your fruits and vegetables become readily available for your body to absorb and use.
