Motivation to go to the gym or to attend a fitness class can, at times, be hard to find. But getting fit doesn’t have to be a lonely task. Exercising with other people is the best way to stay motivated and so we’ve come up with a list of five reasons why you should give it a go.

Workout with a friend
- Motivation – If getting up and out of the door is the biggest challenge you face, then having a workout partner is the answer. Someone who can encourage you further and push you to make that step means that you will find yourself skipping fewer workouts.
- Push yourself further – A little bit of friendly competition never hurt anyone! Often having someone to workout with puts you in a mind-set of wanting to do better and allows you to test your limits.
- Try new exercises – Whilst being in a routine can be beneficial, sometimes performing the same exercises day in, day out can get repetitive. Working out with a friend or partner means that you can learn new moves and stretches to add to your routine.
- Longer workouts – Time flies when you’re having fun, or at least when you are distracted! Having someone to push you further, or even just to chat to between sets, lets you focus on something other than just the time.
- More enjoyable – One of the key elements of forming a habit is to make it fun, and the easiest way to make the gym more fun is to go with a friend. Challenge each other and set small goals for every workout.
