After a fire in 1791 at Richmond House in Whitehall, London, James Wyatt added two great wings to showcase the saved collection at Goodwood. To give unity to the two new wings, Wyatt added copper-domed turrets framing each façade.









Built in 1787 by celebrated architect James Wyatt to house the third Duke of Richmond’s prized fox hounds, The Kennels was known as one of the most luxurious dog houses in the world!


Easy boy! The charismatic Farnham Flyer loved to celebrate every win with a pint of beer. His Boxer dog, Grogger, did too and had a tendancy to steal sips straight from the glass.






Extracts from the 4th & 5th Dukes diaries are on display with red ink used to highlight great things that had happened.

On Tuesday 20 July 2021, the Goodwood aviation community suffered an immeasurable loss with the passing of Rob Wildeboer, the Goodwood Flying School Manager, after a sudden illness. To remember and honour Rob in accordance with the wishes of his family, a number of scholarships were made available to help a number of students on their aviation journeys.
This October, we will be holding our first silent auction at Goodwood Aerodrome to raise funds for our 2024 Rob Wildeboer Scholarships.
To make a bid on any of the items, you can pick up an auction slip at the Flying School front desk at Goodwood Aerodrome, or you can email your bid to scholarship@goodwood.com.
