Sub Focus
Nick Douwma aka Sub Focus has risen through the ranks of underground jungle to become a global dance music superstar. First building a reputation around air-punching, dancefloor-dismantling drum & bass, he now draws from all corners of the electronic landscape - epitomising the ‘anything goes’ mantra of today's scene.
About Sub Focus
Sub Focus is the stage name of Nick Douwma, DJ, producer, live artist and one of the defining figures of British drum and bass.
Over the course of a career spanning more than two decades, he has risen through the ranks of underground jungle to become a global dance music superstar. He started releasing music in 2003 and broke through within his first year, with tracks including "Acid Test" and "X-Ray" making an immediate mark on the scene.
His tunes quickly found their way into the hands of every major DJ in the scene, mainstream radio, and in front of fans across the world.
He has since headlined some of the most iconic stages on the planet, collaborated with artists ranging from Chase & Status to Grimes, and amassed a catalogue that has defined an era of British electronic music.
Drum and bass is at the core of everything Sub Focus does. His sound has always drawn from beyond the genre's traditional borders.
Early records like "X-Ray" and "Timewarp" rewired dancefloors, pairing warehouse grit with widescreen, melodic lift. They were drum and bass records that non-drum and bass fans couldn't resist.
As his career has evolved, so has his palette. Dubstep, electro, house, Afrobeats, pop, all have found their way into his productions at one point or another.
Sub Focus sits at the melodic, euphoric end of the drum and bass spectrum. Think massive soundscapes, emotional builds and hooks that stick, rather than hard-edged industrial grit. His productions blend elements of dubstep, electro and house into a drum and bass foundation, making records that hit as hard in a 10,000-capacity arena as they do in a club at 3am.
Sub Focus has notched multiple UK Top 10 singles, including "Endorphins", "Turn Back Time" and "Out the Blue", and collaborated with some of the biggest names in British music, among them Chase & Status, Rudimental, Wilkinson and Grimes.
His 2024 single "Go Back" with house heavyweight John Summit became one of the year's most-talked-about crossover records, while his 30-million-stream collaboration with Dimension, "Desire", remains one of the most widely heard drum and bass records of the decade.

All those aged under 18 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult (21+ years) to gain entry to the venue - limited to four under 18s, per adult.
Once in the venue, those aged 15 years and under must be accompanied by their responsible adult throughout the duration of the evening.
Once in the venue, 16 & 17-year-olds do not need to be accompanied around the venue but must still have their responsible adult on site.
If you are lucky enough to look under the age of 25 years please ensure you bring a valid form of ID. Goodwood Racecourse operates a Challenge 25 policy on the sale of alcohol at all racing fixtures.
Under 18s race free at all of our fixtures,except Three Friday Nights, and must be pre-booked with both member and non-member admisssion tickets.
Juniors aged 13-17 are able to get tickets for Three Friday Nights at a discounted price. Under 13s can attend for free.

We are a cashless venue so please ensure you bring other methods of contactless or card payments to purchase tickets, food and drink. Betting is still available using cash and all of our on course betting facilities and bookmakers will accept cash and/or card.

Anyone with concerns over the safety or well-being of themselves or anyone else at the Racecourse should voice their concerns to the Racecourse reception or find a member of staff.
