Experience the romance of flying
‘Flying through The Ages’ is a unique full-day flight experience at Goodwood Aerodrome. Soar through the skies above the Sussex countryside and savour the thrill of flying three distinctive aircraft. Take the controls of the modern Cessna, feel the roar of the rare WWII Harvard and find out why the Piper Super Cub is the pilots’ favourite. The experience includes a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the historic Goodwood Aerodrome, with a private tour of the hangars and a chance to meet the aviation team.
What's included:
- A host who will take you on a behind-the-scenes tour of Goodwood Aerodrome and an understanding of its significance as a WWII airfield
- A 45-minute flight in the Piper Super Cub (35 minutes airborne)
- A 45-minute flight in the WWII Harvard (35 minutes airborne)
- A 45-minute flight in the Cessna plus a guest (35 minutes airborne)
- Behind-the-scenes tour of the engineering and aircraft hangars, visit to the Control Tower and a chance to meet the teams
- Breakfast and lunch

Participant guidelines
Maximum weight 15 stone. Maximum height 6'6". All students and passengers must have a good understanding of the English language for briefing and instruction purposes. Everyone flying must be in reasonable health and able to climb into and out of the aircraft. Please note: anyone deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to fly.
Weather
We can do everything we can to ensure that you have a great day, but we cannot influence the weather! You are welcome to contact us the day before your flight to confirm the likelihood of your flight taking place, but the final decision will be made on the day by your Instructor. You will be informed if there is any change to the plan.
Duration
Expect to be at Goodwood Aerodrome for a full day. This will include 45-minutes in the Piper Super Cub (35 minutes airborne), 45-minutes in the Harvard (35 minutes airborne) and 45-minutes in the Cessna (35 minutes airborne) Arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time for the essential safety briefing.
Dress Code
You will be given your own flying suit, to wear. However, trousers and flat shoes must be worn. Make sure you bring your sunglasses too!
Spectators
There is plenty of space for friends and family to come and watch you take off and land. We do ask that children are supervised at all times.

3. Book your experience
Please call Goodwood Flying School on 01243 755066 and make your booking. Your voucher will be valid for 12 months from date of purchase and your voucher must be booked and used within this time.
4. Enjoy your experience
The time has come to enjoy your flying experience at Goodwood Aerodrome. On the morning of your flight, please call the Aerodrome to confirm your flight time and to check the conditions.
