Join the GRRC for an unforgettable "Mountains on the Med" driving tour across the stunning islands of Sardinia and Corsica. With your car seamlessly transported to Sardinia by Paul Grimshaw Vehicle Movements (PGVM), allowing you to ease straight into the adventure, knowing your car will be ready and waiting at the start location.
We will start at the bottom of Sardinia before taking on a fantastic drive along the legendary SS125 Orientale Sarda which stretches over 200km from Cagliari to Olbia promising breathtaking landscapes, thrilling hairpins and views of the Gennargentu Mountains, Sardinia’s highest peaks. After three days of exploring Sardinia, we’ll embark on a short but scenic ferry ride to Corsica, where two unforgettable days await. Discover dramatic coastlines, untouched beaches, and a rugged mountainous interior, including breathtaking views of peaks like Monte Cinto.
Returning to Sardinia, we’ll spend our final days of the trip at the iconic Cala di Volpe hotel, renowned for its luxurious charm and its appearance in the James Bond classic ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ (1977). Our exhilarating driving routes are seamlessly complemented by luxurious accommodation and exceptional gastronomy, ensuring a perfect blend of adventure and indulgence.

Itinerary
Our Mountains on the Med driving tour begins just 45 minutes from Cagliari, allowing you to ease straight into the adventure, knowing your car will be ready and waiting at the start location. PGVM is a trusted transportation company renowned for its work with luxury and performance car clubs, ensuring your car is seamlessly transported from Goodwood to Sardinia.
Nestled along Sardinia’s breathtaking coastline, Forte Village serves as a luxurious haven. With its stylish accommodation, exceptional dining, and endless activities, setting the perfect tone for the days ahead.
This evening, the experience begins with an elegant champagne reception at Terrazza 5 Stelle. From there, we’ll move on to a sumptuous dinner at the renowned Beachcomber by Heinz Beck. A celebrated chef with three Michelin stars, will delight us with an unforgettable dining experience to kick off our adventure.
Today we will embark on an unforgettable driving adventure along the legendary SS125 Orientale Sarda, one of Sardinia’s most scenic and historic roads. This iconic route, stretching over 200 km from Cagliari to Olbia, promises breathtaking landscapes and an exhilarating driving experience. Prepare to navigate winding stretches and thrilling hairpin bends as the road takes you through Sardinia’s most stunning terrains and views of the Gennargentu Mountains, Sardinia’s highest peaks.
Next, you will arrive at Baglioni Resort, set amidst lush Mediterranean gardens, with direct access to Lu Impostu Beach, one of Sardinia’s most beautiful stretches of white sand and turquoise waters. Located in a marine-protected area ensures breathtaking, unspoiled views and the perfect opportunity to unwind with a refreshing swim or a leisurely stroll after a day’s drive.
The Baglioni Resort Sardinia is perfectly situated near several charming towns and excellent dining options, allowing you to explore local flavours and experiences beyond the resort itself during your free evening.
This picturesque route in northeastern Sardinia blends stunning coastal views with the serene beauty of the island’s inland regions. Showcasing crystal-clear waters and rugged cliffs, before heading into the lush, mountainous interior dotted with charming villages like Padru and Irgoli. The loop offers a perfect mix of natural landscapes, Sardinian culture, and scenic driving.
This evening, we’ll gather on the stunning sunset terrace to enjoy a drinks reception as the sky transforms into vibrant hues. Following this, guests will be seated for an unforgettable dining experience at the Gusto by Sadler restaurant. Michelin-starred Chef Claudio Sadler will delight guests with a masterfully curated three-course dinner, showcasing the vibrant flavours and traditions of Sardinian regional cuisine with his signature elegance and creativity.
Departing from Bonifacio, the drive offers a perfect blend of coastal beauty, dramatic mountain scenery, and authentic Corsican charm. The first stretch takes you north, where you’ll be treated to stunning cliffside views, rocky outcrops, and beautiful beaches. As the route then winds inland, you’ll journey through rugged, forested landscapes in the heart of Corsica’s mountainous
region, with views of the island’s highest peaks. The final leg of the journey shifts to a more relaxed, rural landscape, offering glimpses of the Mediterranean coastline, vineyards, and lush valleys.
Monticello is home to A Piattatella, a boutique hotel perched on a hillside offering panoramic views of the Reginu Valley, making it the perfect place for relaxation and rejuvenation. In the evening, guests are free to dine as they please either at the hotel or explore charming towns like L’Île-Rousse.
We will begin our journey in the tranquil village of Monticello, perched on a hill with sweeping views of the Balagne countryside and the Mediterranean Sea,
surrounded by picturesque olive groves and vineyards. Following the coastline, we’ll make our way towards Saint-Florent, a vibrant seaside town nestled on the edge of the Désert des Agriates.
As the road winds through rugged terrain, you’ll be treated to glimpses of the Désert des Agriates, a protected area known for its wild landscapes and pristine beaches. Along the way, several scenic viewpoints invite you to pause and take in the breathtaking surroundings before the route loops gracefully back to A Piattatella.
Tonight, we’ll gather at the hotel’s restaurant to indulge in a delicious three-course Mediterranean cuisine, thoughtfully crafted with the finest fresh,
seasonal ingredients.
Today’s journey is a transfer across Corsica, beginning in the northern town of Monticello. The route winds through mountain landscapes, passing the historic hub of Corte, before descending along the island’s east coast. After a ferry ride to Sardinia, the journey continues for just under an hour before arriving at Cala di Volpe.
Cala di Volpe is one of Sardinia’s most iconic and luxurious spots, set in the famous Costa Smeralda region. Known for its breathtaking views and top-notch service, it’s the perfect mix of Mediterranean charm and world-class amenities, offering a laid-back yet stylish vibe with plenty of chances for relaxation and adventure.
This scenic drive begins at Cala di Volpe, heading to Sardinia’s stunning northern coastline past beaches and the charming coastal town of Castelsardo, before heading inland to the mountainous region of Tempio Pausania, known for its traditional stone villages. The route then takes you along the SS127, offering a blend of panoramic views and the rich, rustic beauty of Sardinia’s hinterland. The drive perfectly combines coastal allure with the tranquillity of Sardinia’s interior landscapes. Later, we’ll come together for a memorable group dinner to celebrate the final evening of our Mountains on the Med driving tour.
