If you are interested in learning to fly please ring Goodwood Flying School on 01243 755066 and make an appointment to meet one of our friendly instructors. We can explain the different options available, and work with you to decide the best route for you to take.
If you are not sure about whether you want to commit to learning to fly why not come and take a trial lesson with us? If you then decide to take this further and go on to gain a qualification, this first lesson will count towards your qualification.
Light Aircraft Pilots Licence (LAPL) is a course that consists of a minimum of 30 hours and then a skills test. Of the 30 hours training, 24 will be dual and six hours will be supervised solo, three hours will be solo cross-country flight time. LAPL is offered at Goodwood in the Cessna 172 or Piper Super Cub
Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL) consists of a minimum of 45 hours training, 25 of which must be dual with 10 hours supervised solo including five hours of cross-country flight time. The PPL requires a Class 2 Medical as a minimum and is offered at Goodwood in either the Cessna 172 or Piper Super Cub.
At Goodwood we have one Piper Super Cub and four Cessna 172s. The Cessna is recognised as the best modern training aircraft and ours are equipped with the latest technology.
Our Piper Super Cub started life with the Dutch air force. It has since been restored and used for teaching skills that the aircraft is renowned for, and is recognised as one of the bet classic trainers ever.
