Goodwood Named One Of The Best Hotels In The Country

11th October 2020

The Goodwood Hotel has been named one of the UK’s top hotels in this year’s prestigious The Times and The Sunday Times Best Places to Stay guide.

Winners were chosen by the editorial travel team who visited all the hotels in the guide and rated The Goodwood Estate as the winner of Best Hotel in the Southeast.

Andrew Coggings, Goodwood Managing Director of Entertaining and Hospitality said: “We are all thrilled to receive this tremendous accolade, especially in the most challenging of times. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff that we have been able to continue delivering outstanding experiences for our guests.”

Set in the heart of the South Downs and within easy reach of the West Sussex coast, The Goodwood Hotel offers seasonal dinning at its field to fork, organic restaurant Farmer, Butcher, Chef. Activities include children’s forest school sessions, farm tours, and guided woodland walks in the 12,000 acre estate. It is the second award for the hotel, which also won best Large Hotel of the Year in the 2019/20 Beautiful South Awards.

The new edition of The Times and The Sunday Times Best Places to Stay was published at the weekend (October 11). It is a comprehensive list of the UK’s best hotels, with 80 detailed reviews and a search tool allowing readers to find the perfect staycation.

Duncan Craig, Travel Editor, The Times and The Sunday Times said: “You'll be delighted to hear that our reviewers have selected The Goodwood Estate as one of our best hotels in the country.”

“The annual Sunday Times Best Places to Stay guide, featuring the very best British hotels, has become the gold standard of the industry over the past decade. It's a tribute to this thriving sector that even in this most challenging of years, we've seen a raft of exciting new openings, as well as established names upping their games. Whatever style of getaway you're looking for, in whatever region, you can be sure of a welcoming and safe place to stay,” he added.

There is so much to do at Goodwood, the only question will be how to fit it all in.
