Pick of the season
Our wine for spring, as chosen by our Estate sommelier, Kevin, is Chapel Down Bacchus, 2014,
As well as being the fourth most planted grape variety in England, Bacchus is the ancient Roman name for the classical god of wine. Chapel Down, based near Tenterden in Kent, demonstrates English wine's considerable potential. The 2014 growing season was warm and sunny which, in turn, helped the vinyards produce exceptional quality fruit. Delicate aromas and a crisp, dry, appetizing finish are supported by a fine fruit intensity. Great with seafood or spicy dishes.
