Guidelines for

Overseas Arrivals & Departures

We want to make your travel as easy as possible, without reducing UK Border Force or Police protection.

Notification of expected departures from and arrival at Goodwood should be given to either:

Goodwood Air Traffic Service Unit (ATSU)

UK Border Force Portsmouth

Counter Terrorism Policing Farnborough

 

All pilots and operators planning to fly to Goodwood Aerodrome must contact Goodwood ATSU by telephone or email in advance to obtain PPR.

Additionally, while Goodwood ATSU is often able to assist, pilots and operators remain wholly responsible for notifying the correct UK agencies regarding flights between Goodwood Aerodrome and locations within the Common Travel Area (Isle of Man, Channel Islands, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland) and territories outside the British Isles. The Border Force and Counter Terrorism Policing contact details above may be used to answer queries, obtain permissions and provide them with updates on timings.

Goodwood Aerodrome is an approved aerodrome but is not Customs & Excise, Immigration or Police designated. For further information read the general aviation guidance document (General Aviation Guidance). Pilots importing aircraft are reminded to read Goodwood Aerodrome’s Airport Regulations (e), which is in the Goodwood Aerodrome entry, EGHR AD 2.20, within Part 3 of the UK AIP (UK AIP).

 

Flights operating between the UK mainland and the Common Travel Area

Border Force

You are required to submit a GAR no earlier than 48 hours and no later than 2 hours prior to the aircraft’s expected time of departure via an approved third-party application or by submitting a GAR (GAR Online).

Counter Terrorism Policing

If a flight is not operating for reward, you are required to notify Counter Terrorism Policing. You can comply with this requirement by submitting a GAR no earlier than 48 hours and no later than 12 hours prior to the aircraft’s expected time of departure via an approved third-party application or by submitting a GAR online (GAR Online). If the flight is operating for reward, in addition to submitting a GAR, you must seek prior approval from a Police Examining Officer at Counter Terrorism Policing by sending an email to CTPSE (Counter Terrorism Police South East) mailbox, details above.

 

Flights operating between the UK and territories outside the Common Travel Area

Border Force

You are required to submit a GAR no earlier than 48 hours and no later than 2 hours prior to the aircraft’s expected time of departure via an approved third-party application or by submitting a GAR online (GAR Online).
