It has been an exceptional year for our Golf At Goodwood Juniors.

The success of our juniors here at Golf At Goodwood often goes under the radar, however this is about to change. Looking back over the year, it is clear to see the amazing achievements our juniors have had not only in their own age category but in the Men’s too.

The Titleist junior series has been well received by all involved with 31 junior members taking part throughout the series of 14 events. The overall winner of the Order of Merit was Dougal Rattray who won six out of the 14 events. The other events were won by eight different juniors which shows that the whole series was very competitive.

The top five players from the Order of Merit have been invited to play for the Junior Team in the Order of Merit 4 Team Challenge on Sunday 6 November. These are:

1st – Dougal Rattray
2nd – George McCallum
3rd Cameron McLeod
4th - Ethan Kwan
5th – Thomas Bissatt

The Junior Club Championships took place over a warm weekend in August with 10 juniors fighting it out to become Champion. Dougal Rattray won the prize for the Nett handicap competition with an amazing score of 67 on The Park and a 78 round on The Downs. The overall champion was Jack Berry, who won the gross competition with scores of 84 on The Park and 83 for The Downs. There was some brilliant golf to be seen by all the juniors involved and it won’t be long until we will be seeing some of these names challenging for the title of the Men’s Club Champion.

The juniors also had another successful year when participating in the Men’s Club Championships with the final standings showing a first and second place for two junior members. Joshua McCartain marginally took the crown by one shot, and Jamie Burchell in second with the two competing right down to the wire. Both of them shot two impressive rounds over the weekend, with Joshua shooting a score of 71 on The Park Course and 74 on The Downs Course and Jamie shooting 75 around The Park and 71 on The Downs.

Congratulations to all of our juniors who took part in our competitions this year, and we look forward to what is set to be a very exciting 2023 events calendar with more junior success.
