Step into the hidden world of wild food on the Goodwood Estate with expert forager Nik Westacott. Whether edible or not, every mushroom and plant has a story. And with Nik’s passion, wit and deep-rooted knowledge, you’ll never look at a countryside walk the same way again. 

This is a rare and exclusive event for Goodwood Members. Nik is the only person granted special permission to forage on the Estate, making this a truly one-of-a-kind experience not to be missed. 

Choose from a morning or afternoon session. 

Morning guests will begin with their foraging experience, followed by a delicious two-course, foraging-themed lunch served with a glass of wine. 

Afternoon guests will enjoy a delicious two-course, foraging-themed lunch with a glass of wine before heading out on their foraging experience. 

Timings for the Day

  • time First Foraging Group 10:00am - 12:00pm
  • time Lunch (both groups) 12:15pm - 1:45pm
  • time Second Foraging Group 2:00pm - 4:00pm

About Nik Westacott

Nik, a former Chichester resident with close ties to the Estate, is Goodwood’s sole accredited mushroom guide, offering unparalleled insight into its secret woodland treasures 

Now living in Pembrokeshire, Nik still travels to Goodwood to assist private and Estate hunts. He has been gathering wild mushrooms and fungi for over 30 years, trained by Dr Derek Reid, head of mycology at Kew and Roger Phillips, author of the finest book on mushrooms.
