School Farm Visits

A visit to Home Farm gives children an interactive experience of a working, organic farm and a memorable day outside in beautiful countryside. Learning outcomes can be tailored to the topic being studied in school and the age of visiting children.

  • location
    Goodwood Education Centre

During a visit to Goodwood Home Farm, children and young people are encouraged to make the connection between the food they eat and food production on the farm.

Whilst activities and itineraries depend on the time of year, a visit to the farm always involves a tour of the dairy, including seeing robotic milking, the cow sheds and the calf barn, where children have close but safe access to cows. Children will make butter from cream, taste fresh, organic (pasteurised) milk and learn about the lifecycle of dairy cows.
