Pete Tong wows a sell out crowd at Three Friday Nights

12th June 2017

World-renowned DJ Pete Tong put on an incredible performance in front of 12,000 at Goodwood Racecourse on Friday 9 June. After racing had concluded, the Parade Ring was transformed into a dancefloor and an expectant crowd watched on as Tong took to the decks, accompanied by an electrifying laser show.

Performing a euphoric mix of house, Tong lived up to his lofty reputation and kept the party in full swing through his hour and a half-long set. The atmosphere was vibrant, as young and old danced to a continuous thumping bassline, reaching a heady crescendo with some anthemic tracks.

Before Tong played, racecourse ambassador Jim Crowley recorded a treble on the evening, with wins aboard Tuff Rock (11/4), White Chocolate (5/4F) and Coral Sea (8/1). Remarkably, the local rider has ridden a winner every time he has visited the track this season. Another with a fine winning record at Goodwood, jockey-turned-trainer Richard Hughes saddled Getback In Paris (6/1) to land the Bespoke Properties handicap Stakes under Shane Kelly.

Earlier on the card in the Racing UK Apprentice Handicap Stakes, Fletcher Yarnham recorded the first winner of his career, much to his delight, riding Road To Dubai (9/2). Trained by George Scott, Road To Dubai is clearly a fan of Goodwood, having scored at the Opening Saturday fixture in May.

General admission tickets for the final Three Friday Nights fixture on 16 June, when Sigma will play a DJ set, have now sold out. The only way to access this fixture is by purchasing a hospitality package or a Gordon Enclosure Season Ticket.

Gates for the Three Friday Nights fixtures open at 4.30pm and the music performance runs from 9.30pm to 11pm. For hospitality and more information, please visit Goodwood.com or call 01243 755055.
