The family fun continues
A farrier talk and demonstrations will provide an opportunity to learn how these skilled metal workers fit shoes to the hooves of the horses, and our racecourse vets will also be giving a talk during the day, explaining the important role they play in horse welfare.
Having got a feel for what the jockeys do in the weighing room and at the start, why not try getting in the saddle yourself? Ride a racing finish on a mechanical horse and unleash your inner jockey!
Pony Racing precedes the main card and provides an entertaining start to the afternoon, as young jockeys establish their careers atop small, but very fast, racing ponies.
Last but by no means least, there's all the fun of the fairground with a carousel and helter-skelter, as well as a fabulous children's adventure play area in the Lennox Enclosure. And remember, children go free and all rides are complimentary.
