After our first visit to view Goodwood House with it in mind for the venue, there really was nowhere else we wanted to go.
Fran
Fran and Henry had already visited Goodwood on many occasions over the years. The happy couple explained how “it was always going to be a high contender for our wedding reception but it was the beautiful setting and professional team that made it a really easy decision.”
“The House is such an impressive building, with the luxury of several different rooms to use throughout the day. Although we didn’t think we would need to make use of them all, given our wedding day was in the middle of summer - the rain well and truly set in on the day itself, which meant we really did make use of the whole house on the day, and so the adverse weather really didn’t impact our day at all!”
The Goodwood team have an incredible reputation for knowing how to ‘do’ events and weddings - from the organisation to the food, so we knew we were in safe hands.
Fran
"Our wedding day was quite traditional - we got married in our local parish church before heading over to Goodwood House for the reception.
We had around 120 guests - a perfect number to make sure we saw everyone at least once through the day, but also big enough to make for a superb party!
Fran
This is where Goodwood came in perfectly - having such an impressive space such as the Ballroom to host the Wedding Breakfast with the adjacent Supper Room the perfect spot to set up the dance floor.”
“The food and wine were certainly a highlight of the day. The wedding tasting in fact became quite a difficult process - rather than simply choosing what we liked, we had to make some tough decisions as we loved everything we tasted!
We had so many comments from our guests on how brilliant all the food was and it was also such a special touch to find our own personal plate of our favourite mushroom arancini waiting for us in the Bridal Room, so as to ensure that we didn’t miss out whilst having the photographs taken - all the small touches like this really made the day flawless. Mike, the Head Chef, and his team really are brilliant, and we will always remember such a delicious meal.”
From the canapés right through to the late-night snacks, every single item of food was delicious and meticulously prepared.
Fran
“The Goodwood team are second to none when it comes to helping with all the preparations, as well as the impeccable running of the day itself.
Rhiannon, our wedding planner, helped guide us through all the preparations so seamlessly - overall, it felt like a strangely relaxed experience! Rhiannon was always quick to help us answer our questions and nudge us when decisions were needing to be made. All her final preparation for the day itself made it so easy for us - covering things we didn’t even know we hadn’t thought about, which was so welcome! And on the day itself, Dave & Sarah, along with the entire House team were just brilliant - everything ran like clockwork, and they made us feel so incredibly relaxed all the time. Nothing was too much for them and we are hugely grateful to them all for making our day so special.”
