As the Estate shifts gently into early summer, Goodwood Farm Shop’s shelves begin to reflect the changing season from the first cut of locally grown asparagus to barbecue favourites prepared by our expert butchers.

Now freshly arrived from Slade Farm, asparagus marks one of the most anticipated seasonal ingredients of the year. Available only for a short window until the Summer Solstice in June, its delicate flavour and freshness capture the essence of British spring dining. Whether lightly grilled, folded into salads or served simply with butter, it remains one of the season’s true highlights.

The butchery team are introducing a new breakfast sausage, joining a range already celebrated for its quality and flavour. Alongside it, the spicy pork sausages have quickly become a favourite and are ideal for relaxed weekend breakfasts or cooking over open flames as warmer evenings arrive.

With barbecue season now on the horizon, the counters are stocked with an exceptional selection of carefully aged steaks prepared for grilling, alongside slow-cooking joints such as brisket, perfect for low-and-slow smoking throughout the day. Goodwood lamb continues to be in season, making it a wonderful choice for spring and early summer cooking. As always, our butchers are on hand to kindly prepare bespoke cuts and tailor orders to individual requests, offering a level of craftsmanship and personal service that remains at the heart of the Farm Shop.

Alongside the butchery offering, discover an exceptional range of organic meat and dairy products, award-winning cheeses, handcrafted beer and gin and fresh artisan produce sourced from across the estate and beyond. Looking ahead, the Goodwood Open Farm on Sunday 14 June promises an opportunity to explore more of the produce, people and craftsmanship behind the estate’s food offering.
