Goodwood’s New Market Garden Brings Heritage to the Table

02nd June 2026

This June, a new chapter begins at Goodwood as the estate’s new market garden starts to take root at Home Farm, with its first organic vegetables soon appearing in the Farm Shop and on menus across the estate, including Farmer, Butcher, Chef and The Kennels.

Created in partnership with Lawrence Fannon, co-founder of regenerative growing company Worthy Earth, the project is driven by stewardship and a commitment to low-intervention growing practices that prioritise soil health, biodiversity and flavour, over industrial efficiency.

Inspired by regenerative principles, the space has been carefully designed to work in harmony with the natural rhythm of the seasons, with cultivation carried out by hand to minimise soil disturbance and encourage long-term fertility.

The market garden will supply a seasonal variety of vegetables and flowers, including heritage crops selected for their freshness, flavour and provenance. Alongside it, the polytunnels will support year-round cultivation, extending the growing season while providing controlled conditions for more delicate crops.

Harvested just moments from the kitchens and Farm Shop, the produce reflects Goodwood’s idea of zero food miles. Visitors to the Goodwood Farm Shop will discover fresh, organic produce grown, harvested and prepared close to home, reinforcing our commitment to seasonal food and sustainable farming from sowing and planting to harvesting.

Rooted in the rhythm of the seasons, the new market garden brings fresh flavour to the estate while marking an important step in Goodwood’s evolving approach to food and farming.
