It’s well known that our friends at LeShuttle are experts in helping travellers, both two and four-legged, to enjoy the super short 35 minute journey to France. Since they’re about to welcome their 5 millionth pet traveller any day now, it’s clear that, when it comes to pet travel, they really do know how to get every family’s holiday off to the very best start. The team at LeShuttle have put everything in place to keep dogs calm and happy before they depart. Their dedicated pet reception, pet lounge and exercise area are the perfect places for them to run off some steam or just relax before they head off on holiday.

We asked the LeShuttle pet experts for their top tips on taking your dog to France – and beyond. They say:

- It all starts long before you plan to go away. Maintaining your dog’s routine is key in the days leading up to your journey.

- Make sure they get regular exercise and practise short car journeys to get them used to the movement of the vehicle.

- Pack some familiar items to take with you in the car – clothing that smells of you, toys from home, lick mats or a Kong stuffed with frozen goodies that your dog loves to savour, will all help your dog to associate travelling with pleasant things.

- On the day, try to give your dog a good walk or run before you set off – with a bit of luck they might even sleep throughout the 35 minute journey to France.

One of the best things about travelling with your four-legged friend on LeShuttle is that, as dogs are allowed in the terminal, they never need to be left alone, even for a short while, which will help to keep them happy and relaxed.

When you visit the LeShuttle stand at Goodwoof, whilst your dog is enjoying the very special fun of Fido’s Lido, the expert team will be on hand to answer all of your questions about travelling with your dog. They’ll also be giving away free anti-anxiety licking mats which you can use whenever your dog needs a bit of self-soothing distraction – either at home, or whilst on the move.
