Understanding the Infant Microbiome and the Role of Good Nutrition in Child Development

In the 2024 Goodwood Health Summit, Mr James Kinross, gastroenterologist at Imperial College London and author of Dark Matter, explained the gut's role and how a healthy mind and body depend on a healthy microbiome. James outlined his focus on protecting the maternal microbiome, how it evolves and therefore influences the future health of infants.

Dr Vicky Sibson is a Public Health Nutritionist and Director of First Steps Nutrition, Vicky outlined the importance of good nutrition from pre-conception to age five and the work she is undertaking around influencing policies and the resources they provide for health workers.
