Easy boy! The charismatic Farnham Flyer loved to celebrate every win with a pint of beer. His Boxer dog, Grogger, did too and had a tendancy to steal sips straight from the glass.

After having to postpone their wedding in Greece due to the pandemic, Jaime and Tom finally tied the knot at The Goodwood Hotel in August 2021. Here is their story:

“We actually were supposed to get married in Greece but because of Covid this was not possible. The only place local we would have wanted if we could not have Greece was Goodwood, as we are local and know firstly of the fantastic reputation and stunning grounds that the estate has. It has an excellent reputation for food and service and just overall somewhere we really loved having visited before for various things.
“As our wedding got cancelled for a second time abroad I wanted to find somewhere to get married within the next six months. We actually were not even going to enquire for Goodwood as thought it would be really out of our price range and beyond expensive. However I really had my heart set on The Goodwood Hotel and thought I would enquire anyway. As soon as we got the quote we couldn't believe how fantastic the price was. We knew it was a no brainer and were very happy with the price knowing exactly what we would get for that with service and food was top of our list
“The journey to reach our big day was beyond stressful. We first booked a date in March 2018 and with two cancellations by March 2021 we were very deflated. However, as soon as we booked Goodwood and visited the venue we had a new lease of excitement and felt it was fate. From there on the whole process made by the team flowed easily and stress free.
“Our wedding theme was modern but traditional. I loved the mirrors in the ceremony and main function room so wanted to keep it elegant but modern and floral, so it still felt lovely and open. We had a balloon style welcome sign by the marquee for the reception and a band for entertainment. We kept the bar area open with no tables and then kept sofas for a more chilled out area.
“The food was exceptional. All of our guests commented how good it was and even lots saying it was best wedding food they’ve had. The tasting was brilliant and the service again exceptional. Brett made us feel welcome and at ease and helped to answer any questions or concerns. We didn't expect the added bonus of even trying the wine, which again was top quality.
“We decided to go with pork for the starter with apple. The main was lamb, which bearing in mind we had 90 sit down, every single piece was cooked to perfection. We then had chocolate ganache for pudding.
“The whole day was memorable and very special to us. The weather was perfect, everyone was smiling and happy, and the service was brilliant right from the reception team sending us ice buckets for the bridal suite, the breakfast team arranging pastries and drinks in our room, staff cleaning and arranging the area and decor to get it right, up to the chefs and bar team. Our wedding planner kept me calm and dealt with everything to make it all smooth going. I would say the ceremony was beautiful and the drinks reception was lovely, again the food was superb. “
