When looking for their perfect venue, Reshma and Damian were keen to marry outside London and head down to West Sussex to make their dream wedding happen. They chose The Kennels and married here in September 2020.
We were keen to get married outside of London. We like visiting Chichester and the surrounding countryside for walks and day breaks. We also love how picturesque and scenic the towns and villages are in West Sussex, so we were thrilled when we knew we could make our Chichester wedding happen! Goodwood’s location was definitely a reason why we wanted to celebrate our wedding at The Kennels. The Goodwood Estate has a rich history which we were also attracted by, and the building is stunning.
"The food choices on the menu were another reason for choosing The Kennels. We loved the fact that some of the ingredients used in the dishes were produced on the Estate and sourced locally. Damian is a professional chef, so the menu and produce was particularly important to him!
We had a small and intimate wedding with our family and close friends. I was also eight months pregnant with our daughter at the time, so our wedding also doubled up as a celebration for her arrival too.
"Our theme was blush and cream; from our wedding outfits to the flowers, our cake and decorations, we wanted the colour theme to resonate in all the finishing touches.
"The food was excellent! The menu provided a number of options fit for a wedding lunch. We started with a champagne reception where we enjoyed a number of perfectly made canapés. After that, we enjoyed a wonderful three course meal. All courses were executed brilliantly and were very delicious. The presentation of the dishes was spot on. It was also great that the kitchen team were able to adapt some of the menu to suit our guests’ dietary requirements.
"The planning team were brilliant throughout and were very clear about the options available. Their advice and guidance helped us make informed choices, they were also incredibly friendly! Even with social distancing regulations in place at the time, the team did a great job of ensuring this did not massively impact the intimacy of our reception. The staff on the day provided a first-class service which added to the experience.
"We felt the team at Goodwood made a brilliant effort to ensure our wedding reception was extra special, and great care was given to the details. The whole experience at Goodwood was a highlight for our wedding - the food, the service and the venue added to the splendour of our special day. The staff were also very accommodating for us to take pictures on the ground, so we have some wonderful memories of our celebration at the venue."
